The following financial statements of The Prudential Insurance Company of America (“Prudential Insurance”) were prepared in accordance with statutory accounting practices prescribed or permitted by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance (“SAP”), which differ from accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. (“U.S. GAAP”). These financial statements represent the financial position and results of operations of Prudential Insurance on a SAP basis rather than the financial position and results of operations of its parent, Prudential Financial, Inc. (“Prudential Financial”), on a U.S. GAAP basis. Prudential Financial’s U.S. GAAP financial statements are included in its Annual Reports on Form 10-K and Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q filed with the SEC, which are available on the SEC Filing page.
